The Adult Behavioral Health Center is part of a major capital modernization project at the Bronx Psychiatric Center (BPC) which includes the construction of the Children’s and Central Services Buildings, Transitional Living, Crisis and Studio Apartment Residences (Residential Village).

The 180,000-square foot Adult Behavioral Health Center is the first new adult inpatient facility designed and built for the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) by the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) in nearly two decades. The hospital campus is the DASNY’s first project to utilize BIM from the design through construction, and also one of the first projects in the region to do so.

The building is a four-story structure in a radial layout with patient rooms organized in four wings. It is the main facility on the Bronx Mental Health Hospital campus.
